Children's HeartLink

Children’s HeartLink is an international medical nonprofit, building sustainable programs to prevent, treat, and cure heart disease among needy children in developing countries by mobilizing extraordinary hearts, minds, and resources around the world.

In 2006, Children's HeartLink established a partnership with the Asian Heart Institute, a new cardiac hospital in Mumbai, a city of 12 million without a strong pediatric cardiac service. The first cardiac team visit was conducted by a team from Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University and was led by Dr. V. Mohan Reddy. A second visit by this team will be made early in 2007 in support of this developing pediatric cardiac service. It is expected that this partnership will not only provide cardiac services for children but also assist in the advancement of cardiac programs in the region. Save a Child's Heart

Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) is the largest charitable trust in India providing pediatric cardiac care to children suffering from heart diseases. This is a need-based initiative, which covers all aspects of a major socio-economic problem in India (i.e., prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, and funding for lower socio-economic groups).

The treatments include open and closed heart surgeries interventions, diagnostic procedures and follow up care for children suffering from heart diseases. The entire team of SACH including the specialists, nursing and paramedical staff volunteer their services.

SACH, along with Apollo Hospitals, organized the 7th Annual Conference of Pediatric Cardiac Society of India. 400 pediatric cardiologists from across the globe participated in the conference and surgeries for underprivileged children were taken up during the conference. Specialists like Dr. V. Mohan Reddy, Chief Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at Stanford University, and Dr. Alain Seraff, Head of Department of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Marie-Lanelongue Hospital, Paris, who attended the conference applauded SACH initiative to provide succor to the tiny hearts.
